what kind of water color brushes did you use?
Hi Marjorie,
I prefer Grumbacher Goldenedge brushes for water-based media such as watercolor or gouache. I hope this helps.
I have purchased soluble graphite and have worked well with it. I’ve just bought ArtGraf coloured set, plus the earthy colours, will you be doing any lessons on this?
Hi Matt, When purchasing water-soluble graphite pencils, will the label tell you if they are water-soluble, or is there another way to tell? Is there a brand you recommend?
Hi Dana,
Yes, water-soluble graphite is labeled. It goes on a little differently than traditional graphite – so you can feel that it’s different. It’s typically quite a bit softer.
If you cannot find water soluble graphite, watercolor pencils work just as well, especially ivory black when applied with different pressures.
I hadn’t tried working with water soluble graphite before, so this lesson was especially helpful. I worked on mixed media paper and was happy with the results,/ Liked the painterly effect, but I do plan to try another subject on water color paper for comparison.
