Wonderful lesson… I wish to see it as live lessons too. Love to watch you draw. Thanks so much for your lessons.
What is the name of the manufacturer for the charcoal paper and the 2B pencil please ? Thank you
Hi Kathy,
The paper is by Strathmore (Charcoal Paper) and the pencil is by Staedtler.
Thanks a ton for this lesson, learnt a lot. A quick question, I noticed that in order to define the shape of each rock besides shading it aligned to the source of the light, I also see that a very thin layer of unshaded space is left between two rocks. Am I visualizing this incorrectly or is this deliberate, as I’ve noticed this in other drawings as well? Appreciate your response.
How big do you make the picture plane?
Is there a standard size for several paper formats?
Charcoal paper: Is there a right side and wrong side?
Hi Stella,
Both sides of the charcoal paper are suitable. The real question is would you rather have the laid pattern going horizontally or vertically. 🙂
