Lesson Discussion

  1. This looks good, i enjoyed following along with the cherries on gettin sketchy, and the trees from the lesson recording during lockdown. I liked this intro music too, thank you

  2. I’m so thrilled that there is now a specific course dedicated to oil pastels. I have been waiting for an art establishment (online or local) to feature this underrated/unrepresented art material. Thank you so much!

  3. I’ve been trying to preview the oil pastels course (lessons 1-2), but every time I attempt to download the eBooks, I’m redirected to the membership signup page. I’m already a member, but the system doesn’t seem to want to know that. Am I missing something?

    • Hi Riuichi,

You canceled your subscription and your access to the membership program ended on September 1. These modules are currently available for viewing as a preview but ebook downloads require an active membership.

  4. Dear Matt,

I love this new course. Though I haven’t tried oil pastels yet, there is so much to learn anyhow. Guess, I will follow this course using soft pastels instead.

I really appreciate the way, the use of each and every new medium introduced starts right from the very beginning, so one can just dive in where it seems most appropriate to oneself.

Thank you so much for all the effort and time, you put in each lesson.

    Best greetings, Buddy

  5. Hi Matt,

I’ve tried using both brands of oil pastels in my mixed media work – over acrylic. Do they ever dry completely? should this work be ultimately framed under glass?

  6. This is the course that brought me here. I am so glad i decided to buy 1 year membership.. This course is just Awesome..
I am waiting for more oil pastel tutorials and live lessons… especially landscapes..
    Thank you very much…

  7. This was a great course! I have a quick question. When you are not filming do you work in oil pastels on an easel or flat. I have always used an easel for most work but I’m finding flat seems more comfortable.
    Thoughts?

  8. Matt, I have a quick question? Do you prefer to work in oil pastels on an easel or flat. I have always used an easel for most work but I’m finding flat seems more comfortable.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks
    Barb Ryan
