Live Lessons: Sneakers with Pen and Ink
Lessons
About This Lesson Series...
In this lesson series, we create a drawing of classic sneakers using pen and ink on paper. Draw along as we develop the drawing with graphite first before adding ink in the form of hatching and cross hatching. Use line quality to create the illusion of form.
Lesson 1 (1:17:04)
In lesson one, we sketch out the basic shapes of the sneakers and begin defining the contour lines with graphite.
Lesson 2 (1:08:21)
In lesson two, we finish the sketch and begin with pen and ink applications.
Lesson 3 (1:11:56)
In lesson three, we continue pen and ink applications on the first shoe.
Lesson 4 (1:10:24)
In lesson four, we complete the first shoe with pen and ink.
Lesson 5 (1:06:58)
In lesson five, we begin pen and ink applications on the second shoe.
Lesson 6 (1:04:34)
In lesson six, we continue pen and ink applications on the second shoe.
Lesson 7 (1:08:50)
In lesson seven, we continue working down the second shoe addressing the toe.
Lesson 8 (1:17:15)
In lesson eight, we complete the drawing by finishing the shoe and adding the cast shadows.

I’ve been trying to view part 7 since Thursday unsuccessfully. It keeps playing part 6.
Hi Princess,
Part 7 was posted yesterday (Monday February 27). Be sure to click on the “Lesson 7” option to play the video. You may have to refresh your page.
Thanks. Working now.
When you click on lesson 7, you introduce it as lesson 6. Maybe it’s the video for lesson 7 but with this mistake at the beginning?
Hi Judy,
Yes, you’re right! This is just me being confused 🙂 It is actually lesson 7, even though I start the lesson by saying that it is lesson 6.
We don’t have groundhogs here in the Netherlands. I believe Groundhogday is something only from North America. But I know it from the movie.
