Lesson Description

Part two of a series on glazing, a process in which translucent applications of color are applied over a monochromatic underpainting. The middle ground and the foreground are addressed in this module.

Lesson Materials

Stretched canvas, acrylic paints (Titanium White, Sap Green, Indian Yellow Hue, Ultramarine, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna), various nylon brushes, water, glazing medium.

    I was curious, what is the difference of using glazing medium as opposed to heavy gel medium? Can you achieve the same glazes using the gel medium?
