Hi Guys,

I am new to this art, this is my second sketch. Any suggestions to improve myself to make it more realistic.

Thanks  :)

You'd be surprised how much more shading there would be round the face. At the moment the background and the face have the same tonal value and I'm fairly convinced that isn't really the case.

I agree with Alan. The face and neck needs more shading. It looks a little flat as it is. I like the way you drew the hair and the detail you put on the sweater sleeve. It's hard to have the detail stand out this way when the background is dark.
Without seeing the reference picture, it seems that the mouth is a little too big. But that is only noticeable after looking at the drawing for a while.
The first reaction on opening the post is: NICE!
Keep at it,
Isabelle

Thank you Alan and Isanbill for your suggestions. I ll practice more on shading and come up with another one. Thanks a lot once again
