Roses - pencil
« on: February 20, 2015, 07:22:45 PM »
I haven't posted anything since the end of the challenge in Sept. but I have been drawing here and there. This is my latest: a dozen (or so) roses in a vase, set on a glass table. I am not sure if I should show the back legs of the table on this. I added the front legs because the table seemed floating in the air without them. The table has 3 glass panels and the vase is set in the middle one so I could not see the back legs or envision how to add them. Any suggestion would be welcome.

It's got a lot going for it. I reckon if you drew it again in colour it would really jump out of the page.

If you can't see the back legs of the table from where you're drawing, don't add them to your sketch. If you even hint at them in the glass at the far end of the table then you're likely to be spending more time than enough on getting the perspective right. I'd stop there.

Thanks for the critique, Alan.
I don't think I'll have the patience to do it in color at this point.
