My second try with colored pencils
« on: September 22, 2014, 01:01:57 AM »
I'm not sure where his post should go but I wanted to tell Mat that watching his colored pencil tutorials have really helped me. I've fooled around with hem twice before but the outcome looked like a three year old did it. This isn't very good [yet] but it's not horrendously bad. I know I didn't burnish the background but I did that on purpose. Not really looking for critique because ll of it is bad.

Thanks. I want to learn as much as I can from drawing to painting. Several 'real' artists, including my aunt who is classically trained has always told me that before one paints etc, they need to master sketching. I've found that I really enjoy drawing even though I never had an art lesson until I signed up here, and have pretty much been self taught. I've already learned an incredible amount from Matt so far. I wish I would have made the choice to learn art before my life is over. I've become passion about it.

I would love the colored covers but I wouldn't be able to recall every colored pages that are missing.

Also, I read pretty much only GB here.
