Berol pencil question
« on: September 08, 2014, 12:59:19 PM »
I have been searching for a Berol turquoise "F" pencil (s). ::)

Have they been discontinued? I usually buy my art supplies from Amazon, but no luck there.

Anyone has a link, if they are still available???

I always wondered what an F pencil is. I have two but I don't see the difference between them and a 2B.

Hi GMS,

An "F" pencil is right in between the "H" and "HB" grades of graphite.  Therefore, the graphite in an "F" pencil is slightly harder than a standard "HB" pencil producing slightly lighter marks.

ok, thanks. I'll give mine a try. Being new at this I've been buying sets of pencils  to see what kind I like the best. So far I've got Royal & Langnickel, Generals, Derwents, Ko Hi Noor (sp?) and some cheapos that I got really cheap. Each set has an F in it, now I know what it's for.
