I know some patience in the beginning to allow paintings to take shape would help my final results but I am happy at how this one turned out.

I'd be happy with that, too. Frankly, I'm about to throw the towel in on rocks at all! Beside, I think Matt said it's representational, and that sure looks like rocks to me!

This is very nice work. Were you using soft pastels, or semi-hard or hard pastels?

Thanks Bill.  I used Rembrandt soft pastels for the bulk of it and NuPastels for some of the details.
