Hi Anila,

Thanks for sharing these beautiful watercolors!  I really like the way that you've handled the shadows on the barn with cool tonalities.  It really makes the highlights "pop" and makes the whole painting.   You are also creating some great depth by layering the colors.  You can really see this in the transparent glass.  You are also making some great compositional decisions with the way that you're handling the picture plane.  Thanks again for sharing!  ;D

Hi Fabeer!  Great colors here and nice wet on wet technique in the sky.  The work has a lot of movement in it.  Thanks for sharing!

Fabeer,  I'm glad you're on the journey with us.   :) The drawing you posted is awesome.  The diagonal lines create nice contrast around the face.

Nice work, Chris.  I really like the bold colors on the clock. :)

Hi John. Try Bristol paper or illustration board. Bristol paper is going to be the smoothest.  But you said gray. Try gray bogus drawing paper from DickBlick.com.

Drawing in General / Re: Drawing specific shapes, like an egg

Hi Creekside!  Ah the egg shape.  Not so easy to get right.  But then again anything curved can be difficult.  My suggestion is to draw from your shoulder instead of your wrist.  The joint in your shoulder is better suited for making curved marks.

Hi Marcia,

I've never painted on glass, but maybe I can give you some options.  The glass is not porous like the surface of a paper so it will behave differently.  Acrylics will stick but may peel off as will tempera paint.  There are manufacturers that make special paints for painting on glass.  I used to work at an art store in college and they were in a completely different section than the regular paints.  I'm not sure why they choose to do that, but anyhow the paints were generally all enamel paints.  Some of the paints are transparent while others are more opaque.  These are all permanent solutions, so if you are looking for a temporary solution don't go this route.  The brands I remember are Vitrea and Deltaperm.
