Title: Erasing
Post by: Ladyeight29 on December 04, 2013, 06:14:44 PM
Hi Matt,

How do I break the habit of wanting to erase every time I think I have made a mistake.

Thanks Janie

Hi Janie,

Here are a couple of suggestions for you.... First, commit to creating a few drawings without an eraser.  See those drawings through to completion, no matter the urge to erase.  Secondly, try holding your pencil different ways other than the traditional way that you may hold one.  Doing this will force you you to be a bit looser in your drawing, which is probably part of your urge to erase.

Also keep in mind the quote from Scott Adams..."Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes, art is knowing which ones to keep."
